How to Book a Media Service
Client can book a Media Service ("Service") from Julian Dahl ("Provider") by completing the required information on the Julian Dahl Booking page and paying the $100 Booking Deposit 48 hours or more from the proposed date of Service delivery.
Get a Quote
To get a Quote, Client may call Provider to explain Job Details or Client may fill in the Client Quote Request Form and click send. The Provider will send Client a Quote promptly in the form of a draft Media Service Agreement.
Media Service Agreement
Media Services ("Services") will be considered Confirmed, Agreed and Scheduled when the relevant Media Service Agreement ("the Service Agreement") is signed (electronically signed, "e-signed") by Client and when Client pays the Booking Deposit ($100) to Provider 48 hours or more from the proposed date of Service delivery. The Provider and Client may negotiate changes to the Service Agreement by mutual written agreement.
Photographic Prints
Prints using premium materials (metallic paper, wood, canvas, aluminum, or acrylic) are available directly from the Provider at reasonable prices. Framing is also available.
Service Fees
Services Fees for Clients are current as listed on the Media Service Price List. Provider reserves the right to change Service Fees on the Media Service Price List. without notice at the sole discretion of Provider. Licensing fees for Business Media Clients are dependent on precise Business Client usage needs as described in the signed Media Service Agreement.
Client Approval of Media
Provider offers Client one (1) opportunity (the "Request Changes Opportunity") to request changes to Web resolution Media files created and/or edited by Provider and displayed with Watermarks on a First Approval Web Page ("Draft Media") for 7 days before final payment in full is due for Services, as described in said Service Agreement. Client selections and approvals of Draft Media files are to be made by Client directly on the First Approval Web Page. Media delivery dates, file types, and method of display of Draft Media for Client approval may be changed by mutual written agreement between Client and Provider. If Client does not respond to Provider for 7 days after Provider offers Client the Request Changes Opportunity, Provider shall consider all Services and media files approved by Client.
Payment Types
The following payment methods are accepted by Provider: Cash, PayPal, Credit Card, Debit Card, Crypto.
Discounts
Provider may offer Client Service Fee discounts for certain kinds of payment and/or Vashon Island residents.
Payment Due: On-Location Media Services
Photography Shooting, Video Shooting, and/or Sound Recording Booking Deposit ($100) is to be made by Client 48 hours before Provider arrival at the agreed location for delivery of Services. The remaining balance of Agreed Service Fee is due to be paid by Client to Provider upon Client approval of Watermarked Final Media from Provider. After Client approves Watermarked Final Media and pays Provider remaining balance of Service Fee Agreement, Provider will send Final Media without Watermarks to Client. Alternative payment and delivery methods may be negotiated between Client and Provider by mutual agreement.
Payment Due: Online Media Services
For Photography Editing and Sound Editing, a Booking Deposit ($100) is to be made by Client to Provider upon Client delivery of original, unedited, High Resolution Client Media files ("Client Media") to Provider. The remaining balance of Agreed Service Fee is due to be paid by Client to Provider upon Client approval of Watermarked/Compressed Final Media from Provider. After Client approves Watermarked/Compressed Final Media and pays Provider remaining balance of Service Fee Agreement, Provider will send Final Media without Watermarks/Compression to Client. Alternative payment and delivery methods may be negotiated between Client and Provider by mutual agreement.
Media Files
"Web resolution Media files" for photographs means 72DPI jpg files with no more than 500 pixels on the longest side; for video means 480 DV quality; and for audio means 96Kbps MP3 files. "High Resolution Media files" for photographs means 600DPI jpg files with maximum available pixel height and width; for video, means 1920x1080 HD quality; for audio means uncompressed WAV or AIFF files. Note that Media file resolutions and Media file types noted above may be subject to negotiation and mutual written agreement between Client and Provider.
Additional Changes Requested by Client to Final Media Delivered to Client
After Provider offers Client one (1) Request Changes Opportunity, and after Provider makes agreed changes to Draft Media, if Client requests further changes to Final Media after delivery to Client, Provider may agree to perform said additional Client-requested Final Media changes if and only if the Client has paid for agreed Media Services in full, as specified in said Service Agreement. Once these additional changes to Final Media are made by Provider, no additional Client approval is permitted or sought by Provider before Client payment of additional Final Media editing fees. Provider agrees to send Client revised un-Watermarked/Uncompressed Final Media after payment in full is made by Client to Provider for revised Final Media editing fees. Bookings
Bookings for Services are considered to be Agreed and Scheduled if and only if a Client-signed Service Agreement and Booking Deposit ($100) are received by Provider 48 hours or more before the agreed date of commencement of delivery of Services.
Cancellations
Provider requests that Client cancellation of a Service Agreement is received by Provider no later than 48 hours before the agreed date of commencement of delivery of Services.
Rescheduling
Provider requests that Client rescheduling of Service delivery date/s is received by Provider no later than 48 hours before the agreed date of commencement of delivery of Services. Provider reserves the right to request rescheduling of Service delivery date/s later than 48 hours before the agreed date of commencement of delivery of Services due to circumstances beyond the control of Provider, such as sickness, Acts of God, or any other unforeseen circumstances, as defined by the Provider.
No-shows
In the event that a Model, Client-Model, or Location Representative granting location access is a no-show (does not appear in person for a Media Service session) at a time and place as agreed in said Service Agreement, Provider reserves the right to cancel, reschedule or renegotiate said Service Agreement with Client, at the discretion of Provider.
Client Failure to Pay Booking Deposit
In the event that Client does not pay the Booking Deposit ($100) 48 hours before delivery of Media Services, Provider reserves the right to cancel, reschedule or renegotiate said Service Agreement with Client, at the discretion of Provider.
Cancellation, Rescheduling or Renegotiation
Cancellation, rescheduling or renegotiation of said Service Agreement may lead to billable Service Fees for any costs incurred by Provider for travel, accommodation, expendable purchases, or fees for any Media Service already performed by Provider for Client, at the sole discretion of Provider.
Refunds
Payment is final and no refunds will be considered by Provider. If Client requests to cancel Service Agreement at any time before delivery of Final Media, Provider reserves the right to refund the Client's Booking Deposit ($100) after deducting costs, expenses, and hourly or day Service fees for any and all Services performed by Provider pursuant to agreed terms, conditions and Media Services contained in the signed Service Agreement, at the discretion of Provider.
Use of Final Media for Promotion of Services
Provider may use Final Media for promotion of Services, unless specifically prohibited in the Service Agreement.
Credit
Provider requests that credit for Final Media released by Client to the public on the Internet, in a commercial broadcast, in a media screening for free or for purchase in a publicly accessible venue, in hardcopy publications, or on any form of recordable or downloadable media for sale or rental to the public ("Released Client Media") will appear in Released Client Media, as specified in the signed Service Agreement.
Releases for Photography or Video Productions
All relevant Model Releases and Location Releases (supplied by Provider) must be completed, signed and in the possession of Provider before Provider delivers Services on location. A signed Model Release is required for all Models that are to appear in photographs or video footage. Note that for events or weddings, a Media Release Notice can be posted to the wall of the venue and photographed or recorded by video in lieu of an individually signed Model Release for each person appearing in photographic or video Media recorded by Provider. A signed Location Release is required for all private property locations where Provider delivers Media Services.
Licensing
After a Private Client has paid Provider in full for agreed Media Services, Web and Print Licenses are granted by Provider to Private Client for all personal posting of Final Media on personal websites, blogs or other social media websites on the Internet. Private Clients may also print photographs from Print files without limitation. Business Clients may request a Print, Web, Publication, Syndication, Broadcast or Distribution License from Provider subject to mutual agreement in writing.
Copyright
All Photographic Media Services performed and delivered to Client by Provider are on a Freelance basis, unless stated otherwise in said Service Agreement. Unless otherwise stated in said Service Agreement, Provider shall be the sole copyright owner of Photographic Media. Client may request transfer of copyright from Provider to Client for an additional fee subject to mutual agreement in writing. Copyright to Sound and/or Video Media created by Provider may be negotiated on a Work For Hire basis by mutual written agreement between Provider and Client. In the case of a signed Work For Hire Service Agreement for Sound and/or Video Services, Provider agrees to transfer copyright to Client and deliver Final Media to Client in the manner specified in the signed Work For Hire Service Agreement. Business Clients may request other copyright, licensing and Media delivery methods subject to mutual agreement in writing.
